General Process for Applying for CPF Direct Debit (GIRO)

Eligibility

Employers, self-employed persons, or individuals making voluntary CPF contributions can apply.

You must have a bank account with a participating bank in Singapore.

Download/Submit GIRO Form

Log in to CPF Online Services (via CPF website) using SingPass.

Navigate to Employers › e-Submission › eGIRO or Self-Employed / Voluntary Contributions › GIRO Application depending on your role.

You can usually submit an online GIRO application through your bank (instant approval if successful), or download the CPF GIRO form and submit it to CPF/your bank.

Provide Bank Account Details

Enter your bank account number and verify the account holder’s name matches CPF’s records.

Bank & CPF Processing

If applying online via participating banks, approval can be instant to a few days.

Paper form submissions may take 2–4 weeks for processing.

Notification of Approval

CPF will send you an SMS, email, or letter once the GIRO arrangement is approved.

Until approval is confirmed, you must continue making CPF payments manually.

Deductions Begin

Once approved, CPF contributions will be automatically deducted on the 15th of each month (or the next working day).
